GXS TradeWeb Registration Help

The information requested during this registration process validates you for the service, and serves as your company profile in the GXS TradeWeb Directory.

The GXS TradeWeb registration process consists of the following steps.

The entire registration process takes no more than 15 minutes to complete.

To sign on and begin the registration process, click the New User Sign-Up icon on the GXS TradeWeb site. The Welcome page appears.

1 On the Welcome page, review the information, paying close attention to the information you need for the registration process.

2 From the Country list, select the country of your billing address.

3 Click the Next Page button. The Service Agreement page appears.

1 Review the GXS TradeWeb terms and conditions.

You may want to print these terms and conditions for future reference.


2 Answer the questions at the bottom of the page.

If you answer No to either question, you will not be able to complete the registration process.


3 Click the Next Page button.

If you answered Yes to both questions in the previous step, the User Information page appears. If you answered No to either question, a Thank You page appears and you can not complete the registration.

1 Complete the information requested. Note that fields marked "optional" do not require information; all other fields do.

If you need help with particular fields, click the Help icon at the top of the User Profile section.


2 Click the Next Page button.

3 Did you complete all the required information?

If so, either the Company Contact or the Company Information page appears.

If not, a message appears identifying the missed items. Click OK, enter the missing information, and then click the Next Page button.

Tips for entering information

1 If you indicated that you were not the Company Contact on the previous User Information page, a Company Contact section appears. Do the following.
  1. Complete the information.
  2. Click the Next Page button.

Did you complete all the required information?

If so, the Company Information page appears.

If not, a message appears identifying the missed items. Click OK, enter the missing information, and then click the Next Page button.


2 Select or type the industry(s) of your company. To select more than one item from a list, hold down the Ctrl key and click on all applicable items.

3 Enter the company

  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code(s).

  • Dun & Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering System (D-U-N-S) identifier -- This code is assigned by Dun & Bradstreet . Contact Dun & Bradstreet to find out if your company has been assigned a D-U-N-S number, or to request one, visit the Dun & Bradstreet web site.

4 Specify the different types of
  • Products and services your company purchases.
  • Products and services your company sells.
  • Companies that might purchase your products and services.

5 Enter information about how your company receives payment.

6 Enter other geographical and descriptive information about your company.

7 Click the Next Page button.

8 Did you complete all the required information?

If so, the Join a Community or Association page appears.

If not, a message appears identifying the missed items. Click OK, enter the missing information, and then click the Next Page button.

When you join GXS TradeWeb at the request of a Trading Partner, you

1 If you are joining GXS TradeWeb at the request of a Trading Partner or Association, select Yes. Otherwise, select No.

If you were not given the name or access code of the Trading Partner or Association, select No for now. After you get the correct information, you can sign up with your Trading Partner or join the Association.


2 If you selected No in Step 1, click the Next Page button. The Billing and Subscription Information page appears.

3 If you selected Yes in Step 1, then from the list of Trading Partners and Associations, select one.

Note During registration you can sign up with only one Trading Partner or Association. After you register, you can sign up with more Trading Partners and join multiple Associations.


4 Enter the access code for your Trading Partner or Association.

If you do not know the access code, change your selection in Step 1 to No. You can sign up with the Trading Partner or join the Association later -- when you receive the correct information.


5 Click the Next Page button. The Account Options -- Subscription Options page appears.

1 Read about the Pay-As-You-Go, Monthly, and Annual subscription options.

Also, note that

  • The Pay-As-You-Go and monthly plans bill your account on the same day of every month you are a member of the service.
  • The Annual plan bills your account the entire yearly fee once. Excess usage fees are billed on a monthly basis.
  • No credits are issued on canceled subscriptions.
  • Once registered Annual subscribers can change their subscription option once every 12 months. Pay As You Go and Monthly subscribers can change their options with one month's notice.
  • If you join a Community or Association after completing registration, all applicable fee adjustments will be made for you at that time.

2 Select the option button next to Pay-As-You-Go, Monthly, or Annual for your subscription option.

3 If satisfied with your choice, at the prompt click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and repeat Step 2.

4 Scroll down to the E-Mail Notification Service section and read about this feature.

5 If you want to subscribe to the E-Mail Notification Service, select the option button next to Yes. Otherwise, select the option button next to No.

You can activate, or deactivate, the e-mail service at any time after registration.


6 If you selected Yes in Step 5, make sure that the e-mail address is correct as displayed. If not, enter the correct address.

7 Click the Next Page button.

The Pricing Confirmation page appears


8 Carefully review the pricing information.

If you joined a Trading Community or an Association, its pricing appears on this page. Otherwise, the standard GXS TradeWeb pricing for your country appears -- remember, you can still join a Trading Community or Association after registration.


9 Select Yes to accept the price schedule.

If you select No, GXS TradeWeb returns you to the Join a Community or Association page, where you can change your community or association choice, or you can decline to join one. Remember, you can join a community or association after registration.


10 Click the Next Page button.

The Payment Information page appears


Step 7 -- Payment Information

1 Select the option button next to Credit Card, Direct Bank Debit, or Direct Invoice for your payment method.

All payment options are not supported in all countries. If the country you are registering in does not support a payment option, that option is not available to you.

If you choose to have GXS TradeWeb fees billed to a credit card or bank debit account, it must be valid and in good standing.

GXS accepts most major credit cards. We do not, however, accept Diners Club.


2 If your company is tax exempt, select Yes and type your exemption number in the box.

If your company is not tax exempt, select No.


3 If your company is tax exempt, you must provide tax exemption documentation.

4 Click the Next Page button.

Depending on which payment method you selected, the Credit Card Information, Bank Debit Information, or Direct Invoice Information page appears.


5 Type the information as requested.

If you need help with particular fields, click the Help icon to the right of the section name.

Important After you complete the information and click the Next Page button, the initiation fee plus the first monthly fee, or annual fee, is automatically billed.


6 Click the Next Page button.

The Sign On Information page appears.


Step 8 -- Sign-On Information

1 Type the login ID you want to use when signing on to GXS TradeWeb.

This ID can be between 3 and 30 characters. It can consist of letters and numbers, but not special characters such as &,*,%, and so on.

If you choose an existing ID, a message displays when you click the Next Page button.


2 Type the password you want to use when signing on to GXS TradeWeb.

The password must be at least 6 characters, can consist of letters and numbers, and cannot be the same as your login ID.


3 Type your password again to verify.

If your password entries do not match, a message displays when you click the Next Page button.

Type a unique company identifier that is different from your password.

You might want to choose something you will remember easily, such as your mother's maiden name. If you forget your password you can supply this company identifier to a GXS Client Support representative in order to get your password reset.

Whenever anyone from your company calls GXS TradeWeb Client Support, they will be asked for this identifier.


5 Click the Next Page button.

6 Did you complete all the required information?

If so, the Congratulations page appears.

If not, a message appears identifying the missed items. Click OK, enter the missing information, and then click the Next Page button.


Getting Started with GXS TradeWeb

Congratulations! You have completed the registration process.

Read this page carefully -- it tells you what to do to get started.

Tip Print this page for future reference. To do so, click anywhere on the text of the page and then click your browser Print function or icon, select your print options, and click OK.




Print a TradeWeb Page or Form

TradeWeb pages and forms are in three different frames on the window.

Step Action
1 Place your mouse cursor on the area of the window you want to print -- that is, the center area of the window where the page or form information is.

2 Click once on this area. Although nothing happens that you can see, this action tells the system which area (frame) of the window to print.

3 Move your mouse cursor up to your browser toolbar and click the Print button.

4 Select your print options and click OK.

Tip The Print function automatically defaults to the top frame. Therefore, if your printed page has "GXS TradeWeb Document Reader" displayed on the top, you didn't perform Steps 1 and 2 above.
