Looking up Potential Trading Partners

The GXS TradeWeb Directory contains a profile of each company with whom you can trade using GXS TradeWeb. You can use this Directory to find potential trading partners.

Companies in this Directory are either

Current GXS TradeWeb subscribers, or
GXS clients sponsoring this service within their trading communities.

When using the GXS TradeWeb Directory, you can either

Browse for companies by category, such as company name, industry, state/province, or country.
Search for companies based on specific criteria, such as industry, SIC code, or products bought and sold.

Browsing for a Trading Partner

Step	Action
1	From the GXS TradeWeb site, click the GXS TradeWeb Directory icon. The Search GXS TradeWeb Directory page appears.

2	In the Browse Via Categories section, select the browse action you want. Browsing by Company Name displays a list of all companies whose name begins with the letter or number you chose. Browsing by Industry results in a list of all companies who participate in any of the industries included in the classification you select. For example, a search on *Mining* results in a list of all companies doing business in the following industries: *Metal Mining, Coal Mining, Oil and Gas Extraction, and Non-metallic Minerals (except Fuels)* industries. Browsing by Company Country or U.S. States results in a list of all companies located in the country or state you chose.

3	Select your browse criteria. To browse by Company name -- Select the letter or number the company name starts with. Industry -- Select the industry the company you are looking for does business in. Country -- Select the country you want to browse and click the Browse button. U.S. state -- Select the state you want to browse and click the Browse button.

Step Action

1 From the GXS TradeWeb site, click the GXS TradeWeb Directory icon. The Search GXS TradeWeb Directory page appears.

2 Click the Search action.

3 Type the specific information you want to search for in the appropriate boxes. Important Enter information in at least one field.
Remarks

You can complete as many as fields as you like.
Only companies matching all criteria appear on the Results page.

You can enter letters, numbers, spaces, commas and special characters. When using special characters, only exact matches are returned.

You can search on multiple possibilities for Company Name, Products Bought and Products Sold criteria. Separate each with a space. For example, to find all companies that sell flooring and carpeting, you would type flooring carpeting.

The Company Name, Products Bought, and Products Sold searches find not only the exact word(s) you type, but also other words based on the same root word. For example, a search on a company name of Fun Stuff can result in a list including Funny Things, Food Stuffs, Inc. and Turkey Stuffings Galore.

The Country, State/Province and City criteria options contain entries exactly as entered by subscribers. If the location you are looking for does not appear in the list, there are currently no subscribers in that location.

If any matching companies were found, a listing shows each company and portions of its profile, such as

Whether or not the company is a community sponsor
Types of products the company buys and sells
Geographic regions the company serves
Industry and SIC code(s)

In addition, if the company has placed an advertisment In the GXS TradeWeb Directory, a See Our Ad icon displays next to the company name. You can click this icon to view the advertisement.

If no matching companies were found, a message tells you so. You can click the Return to Search Criteria button to try another search.
