1 On your Company Trading Center page, do one of the following.

  • To open a message you sent, click the Sent Box.

  • To open a message you received, click the In Box.

  • To open a message you created and saved, but did not send, click the Out Box.

The message box opens displaying the list of messages currently in that box.

Tip By default, TradeWeb lists messages by date, with the most recent listed first. To change the message sort, click the heading button of the column containing the information you want to sort the messages by.


2 To open the message, in the Message column click on the message name. The message opens.

Reply to an EDI message

GXS TradeWeb lets you reply to certain types of incoming messages. For example, you can select an incoming Purchase Order and create a Purchase Order Acknowledgment or Invoice with information from the original Purchase Order already filled in.

First, determine if you can reply to the EDI message.

1 On your Company Trading Center page, click the In Box icon or link.

2 In the Message column, click the name of the message.

3 Is there a Reply To Message With option in the navigation frame?

  • If so, you can create a response to this message.

  • If not, this message does not have a complimentary response message type.

Then, reply to the message.

1 Do one of the following.

  • From your In Box list, click the Select box for the message you want to respond to.

  • While viewing the message, scroll to the bottom of the message and select the type of message you want to return.

2 Click the Reply to Message With action.

3 Does a new page ask what type of response you want to create?

  • If so, select the type of message you want to create in response and click the Reply To Message With action.

  • If not, continue below.

A new EDI message opens. Information from the original message is filled for you.

Re-Send a Sent Message

GXS TradeWeb lets you resubmit messages you have already sent in cases when the message is not received by the intended recipient.

Before you begin, be absolutely sure that the

1 From your Company Trading Center page, click the Sent Box icon or link.

2 In the list of messages, click the Select box next to the message you want to re-send.

3 Click the Resubmit option. A confirmation dialog box appears.

4 To re-send the message, click the Yes button.

GXS TradeWeb creates and sends a new message, and puts a copy in your Sent Box.


Tip Messages in your Sent Box are for stored 45 days. To keep a permanent copy of these messages, save the messages to your PC hard drive, or to some other media such as a floppy disk or writable CD.




Print an EDI Message

1 From your Company Trading Center page, click the icon or link for the message box containing the message you want to print.

2 In the list of messages, click the name of the message. The message opens.

3 Click anywhere in the message text.

4 From your browser File menu, select Print or Print Frame.

5 Select your print options and click OK.

Permanently Save an EDI Message

GXS TradeWeb stores messages in your In and Sent message boxes for 45 days in. To keep a copy of a message, you need to save it to your PC hard drive, or to some other media such as a floppy disk or writable CD.
StepAction
1 Decide where you want to store your EDI messages.

Tip You may want to create one or more subdirectories (or folders) on your hard drive especially for storing EDI messages. Alternatively, you may want to use a designated floppy disk or writable CD to store the messages.


2 Open the message you want to save.

3 Click somewhere in the message text.

4 From your browser File menu, select Save As or Save Frame As.

5 Select the location for stored messages.

6 Type a name for the message and give it an .htm or .html extension.

7 Click the Save button.

TradeWeb saves the message to the location you selected with the name you typed. Note, however, that graphics are not saved.


Delete an EDI Message

1 From your Company Trading Center page, click the icon or link for the message box containing the message you want to delete.

2 In the list of messages, click the Select box(es) next to the message(s) you want to delete.

3 Click the Delete action. A confirmation dialog box appears.

4 To delete the message(s), click the OK button.

The message box appears and the message(s) you deleted are gone.
