GXS TradeWeb lets you

• Create any EDI message from a blank message or a template you have previously saved
• Create a reply to a message you have received.
• Save EDI messages you create in your Out Box until you are ready to send them.
• Store sent and received messages for 45 days.
• Edit a message saved in your Out Box, then save it again or send it immediately.

GXS TradeWeb provides the following EDI forms for you to use.

• Generic Forms (four) -- Use the generic Purchase Order, Purchase Order Acknowledgment, and Invoice forms to create EDI messages to send to any GXS TradeWeb user. The fourth form, Functional Acknowledgment, is automatically sent whenever you open an incoming message.

• Company-Specific Forms -- GXS TradeWeb provides the ability to access and use company-specific forms. Your access to these forms is allowed only with an approved trading relationship with, and a password provided by, companies that have created their own customized forms.

• Form Templates -- You can create and save form templates containing data you use repeatedly. Instead of inputting the same data over and over again, you can create EDI messages using a template with the data already there. You can create multiple templates for each Trading Partner, form, or even each product you buy or sell.

The EDI messages available for your use depend upon your current trading relationships. All GXS TradeWeb subscribers have access to a generic Purchase Order, Purchase Order Acknowledgment and Invoice form. If you have an established trading relationship with a company who has created their own customized forms, and you have successfully added this company to your Personal Directory, you will have access to those forms as well.

When you create a new EDI message, you first choose the Trading Partner you want to send the message to (if you have only one Trading Partner in your Personal Directory, GXS TradeWeb selects it for you). GXS TradeWeb then determines which forms are available for sending to this particular Trading Partner and displays only those forms in a selection list. Or, you could create the message from a template you previously created to use with this Trading Partner.

The GXS TradeWeb Templates feature lets you create and save message templates that contain information you can use over and over.

For example, if you send Purchase Orders for the same items on a regular basis, you can create a template Purchase Order containing all the information related to those items and save it. Then, when you are ready to send another Purchase Order for the same items, you create a new message using the template with your information already entered.

Message Templates are Trading Partner-specific. When you create a template, you go through the same process as creating a message. This means that you select the Trading Partner the template will be used with (if you have only one Trading Partner in your Personal Directory, GXS TradeWeb automatically selects it for you).

You can create and save as many templates as you like. Each template is stored in your Template Library until you remove it.
