Trading Partners are companies that you do business with -- these companies can be members of your Trading Community, members of an Association that you join, or both.

Important You must add a business or association Trading Partner(s) to your Personal Directory before you can receive or create any EDI messages.

What do you want to do?

Businesses that you buy from or sell to are called your Trading Partners. GXS TradeWeb allows you to send EDI messages (such as POs) to other companies registered with the service.These companies can be members of your Trading Community, members of an Association that you join, or both.

Some companies are community sponsors. This means that only approved subscribers can trade with these companies. If a company you want to trade with is a member of a closed community, you must request its access code and enter it when adding the company to your Personal Directory.

The GXS TradeWeb Directory contains a profile of each company with whom you can trade electronically using GXS TradeWeb. You use this Directory to

• Look for potential Trading Partners
• View details about a company, such as
  • Contact name and phone number
  • Industries the company does business in
  • Products the company buys and sells
  • Whether the company is a community sponsor
• Add Trading Partners to your Personal Directory so that you can send EDI messages to those partners
