You can use an index called the GXS TradeWeb Directory to find potential Trading Partners. When using the GXS TradeWeb Directory, you can either browse or search the master list of companies to find businesses you are interested in as Trading Partners.

Search for a Trading Partner
StepAction
1 From your Company Trading Center page, click the Global Directory icon in the navigation frame on the left. The Search GXS TradeWeb Directory page appears.
2 Click the Search action.
3 Type the specific information you want to search for in the appropriate boxes. Important Enter information in at least one field.

Remarks

  • You can complete as many as fields as you like.

  • Only companies matching all criteria appear on the Results page.

  • You can enter letters, numbers, spaces, commas and special characters. When using special characters, only exact matches are returned.

  • You can search on multiple possibilities for Company Name, Products Bought and Products Sold criteria. Separate each with a space. For example, to find all companies that sell flooring and carpeting, you would type flooring carpeting.

  • The Company Name, Products Bought, and Products Sold searches find not only the exact word(s) you type, but also other words based on the same root word. For example, a search on a company name of Fun Stuff can result in a list including Funny Things, Food Stuffs, Inc. and Turkey Stuffings Galore.

  • The Country, State/Province and City criteria options contain entries exactly as entered by subscribers. If the location you are looking for does not appear in the list, there are currently no subscribers in that location.
4 Click the Search button.The GXS TradeWeb Directory Search Results page appears.
5 See Your Search Results.

Browse for a Trading Partner

1 From your Company Trading Center page, click the Global Directory icon in the navigation frame on the left. The Search GXS TradeWeb Directory page appears.
2 In the Browse Via Categories section, select the browse action you want.

  • Browsing by Company Name displays a list of all companies whose name begins with the letter or number you chose.

  • Browsing by Industry results in a list of all companies who participate in any of the industries included in the classification you select.

    For example, a search on Mining results in a list of all companies doing business in the following industries: Metal Mining, Coal Mining, Oil and Gas Extraction, and Non-metallic Minerals (except Fuels) industries.

  • Browsing by Company Country or U.S. States results in a list of all companies located in the country or state you chose.
3 Select your browse criteria. To browse by

  • Company name   Select the letter or number the company name starts with.

  • Industry   Select the industry the company you are looking for does business in.

  • Country   Select the country you want to browse and click the Browse button.

  • U.S. state   Select the state you want to browse and click the Browse button.
4 The GXS TradeWeb Directory Search Results page appears. See Your Search Results.

Your Search Results

Some companies are community sponsors. This means that only approved subscribers can trade with these companies. If a company you want to trade with is a community sponsor, you must request their access code and enter it when adding the company to your Personal Directory.
To Do this
Do another search or browse Choose a search or browse action from the navigation frame.
View the profile of a company on the list Click on the company name. The Company Profile Details page appears. If you then want to add the company to your Personal Directory, click the Add to Personal Directory action in the navigation frame on the left.

Note If you can not click the company name, you may have initiated this find from the GXS TradeWeb Site instead of from your Company Trading Center. Go to your Company Trading Center and do a search from there.

Join an Association

You can join an association at any time. When you become a member of an association, you

1 From your Company Trading Center window, click the Join Association icon in the navigation frame on the left. The Association Forms Subscription page appears.
2 From the list of associations, select the one you are joining.
3 In the Access Code field, enter the access code suppled to you by the association, or by Global eXchange Services Telesales.
4 Click the Continue action in the navigation frame on the left of the page. A Congratulations page appears, from where you can continue your GXS TradeWeb activities.
